ARCHERY

Hungarian Archery Club

The HC&HS Archery Club was established on the 23rd of July 2011 within the framework of the Hungarian Culture & Heritage Society. The aim of the archery club is to represent and promote the traditions of archery to the UK public and to Hungarians living in the UK. Archery is one of the oldest sports in the world, in fact the history of Hungarian Archery can be traced back 1,500 years. The culture of archery is unique in Europe. More and more attention is paid to it as a sport in a modern life in Hungary.

Our goal is to increase awareness of archery as a sport and introduce it to the local community. Therefore, we have established the HC&HS archery club which provides the opportunity for all ages to take advantage of archery as a recreational sport, which can be excercised regularly by joining our club. HC&HS has already organized two Archery Days, both having been a great success within the community and participants. The program provided a full-day adrenalin raising experience for all participants who also had the opportunity to join our archery competition with real interesting prizes. Our target for the next 12 monhts is to hold regular excercises at least twice a month.
